Licensed Massage Therapist
Born and raised in California, Buffie also spent enough time in urban New York to have gained a deep appreciation for the New England values of saying what you mean, and meaning what you say. She came to North Carolina to feast her eyes upon the color green, breathe the mountain air, and walk in the woods.
Buffie’s journey into the healing arts began with a month-long yoga teacher training at a remote ashram in India. After teaching yoga for several years, she took a Thai Yoga Massage class and fell head over heels in love with this playful and meditative practice. From that point on, it was a long but clear path into Massage Therapy.
Buffie’s bodywork combines the specificity of Western structural work with the holistic approach of Thai massage, Yoga, and Ayurveda. She strives to make each session a moving meditation and to inspire the currents of the body to slow down and enter a deep state of bliss in which the body can restore its tissues with ease. Depending on the guest’s needs, a session may include rhythmic compressions, passive joint movement, California-style flowing strokes, Trigger Point work, Myofascial release, and/or Thai Yoga stretches.
Buffie says: “I love to help people be more comfortable in their bodies, and to give them encouragement and tools for their own self-care.”
