Debi

Debi has more than 40 years working in the outdoor recreation industry with a strong foundation in HR, Risk and Compliance Management. She is the president and a founding member of Headwaters Outfitters, a paddle sports, fly-fishing guide and outfitting company located at mile zero of the historic French Broad River. Today, her husband David and daughter Jessica continue to operate the family-owned business.

She has achieved national recognition as a successful businesswoman in the paddle sport industry; she also received the Friend of the River Award from the French Broad River Foundation. Debi has served or is actively serving on various outdoor recreation boards and committees including the United States Forest Service Region 8 Recreation Resource Advisory Committee, Transylvania County Recreation Advisory Board and President Reagan’s Commission on Outdoor Recreation. She also serves on the boards of directors for Conserving Carolina, Blue Ridge Mountain Host, Riverlink, and the Brevard Chamber of Commerce.
