Facilities Maintenance Assistant
Originally from Rochester, N.Y., Amy moved to Hendersonville, N.C., at the age of four. Following primary school, she graduated with honors, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Environmental Science Technology—a milestone that launched her career in wastewater quality.
Amy began her professional journey at a private company, where she successfully earned her state license as a Grade 2 Biological Wastewater Operator. Her expertise eventually led her to roles within her local municipality and the industrial sector, where she obtained a state license as a Grade 1 Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operator.
Recognizing that maintenance was a cornerstone of her field and identifying electrical work as a personal weak point, Amy took a hands-on approach to bridge the gap. She spent over five years in construction, gaining practical experience wiring houses.
Outside of her technical career, Amy thrives on variety and a deep connection to the outdoors. She is an avid hiker and angler who enjoys gardening and has a great love for animals.
Amy says: "I love working in maintenance. The varied challenges are fun. After all, variety is the spice of life!"
